[15:54:51] meffie joins the room
[15:57:47] wiesand joins the room
[15:58:15] <meffie> greetings
[15:59:00] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> salutations
[15:59:51] <wiesand> Hello
[16:01:52] <meffie> i am adding another buildbot worker to build rpms and then do a test dkms build.
[16:02:37] <wiesand> No news from my side. But I'll start tending to Cheyenne's stacks r.s.n.., most likely later today.
[16:03:17] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Sounds good
[16:03:45] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> speaking of DKMS, I ran into some unfortunate side effects of 14743
when looking at debian DKMS builds
[16:04:01] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> (see my last comment at https://gerrit.openafs.org/#/c/14743/11)
[16:04:22] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I don't quite have something working locally, though I think I am
close.
[16:05:09] Cheyenne joins the room
[16:05:13] <Cheyenne> hello all
[16:06:08] <meffie> re 14743... oof.
[16:08:05] <Cheyenne> re: dkms .. I believe that openSuSE has it's own method of building the kernel module as well that should probably be checked
[16:09:11] <Cheyenne> meffie: was there a recent gerrit you wanted to be added to the 1.8.x pending stack?
[16:09:17] <meffie> those wacky openSUSE guys
[16:11:50] <meffie> nothing important, just some changes to the openafs.spec.in file to fix warnings during rpmbuild.
[16:12:10] <meffie> it can wait
[16:13:47] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Next week is IETF week, though I maybe don't have a directly
conflicting session.
[16:15:37] <Cheyenne> still getting clean master builds with latest 5.19rc
[16:15:44] <meffie> nice. thanks!
[16:16:19] <meffie> wiesand: was my mail about gerrit commit ordering helpful?
[16:16:42] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Excellent!
I have the current 5.19 patches staged in my pending debian upload
(still waiting on the dkms thing)
[16:17:02] <wiesand> Yes it was, though I have to admit I still have to try it myself.
[16:17:33] <meffie> ok, no problem. let me know of you have any questions or problems.
[16:17:46] <wiesand> Sure, thanks a lot.
[16:18:33] <meffie> i also put that on wiki.openafs.org, so if i made any mistakes, we can update the wiki.
[16:19:02] <meffie> I think the page is called GitGerritOrder
[16:19:23] <meffie> https://wiki.openafs.org/devel/GitGerritOrder/
[16:20:43] <wiesand> Yes, that's the right place for such useful recipes IMHO
[16:21:59] <meffie> ok, thanks.
[16:22:35] <wiesand> Anything else to discuss today?
[16:23:16] <wiesand> (I need an hour each evening to water the garden - fifth year of drought in a row…)
[16:23:36] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Not much from me, just wishing I would make more progress on
reviewing the handful of gerrit tabs I have open
[16:24:07] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I keep seeing headlines about terrible heat waves in Europe but not
much specifics about whether there are spots that are less bad
[16:25:03] <wiesand> There are such spots - unfortunately, Berlin is not one of them currently.
[16:25:27] <meffie> i has been very pleasant in ohio. and some rain yesterday.
[16:26:59] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> We are getting some slightly unseasonably warm temperatures out here,
but that means like 30C, i.e., not actually that bad.
[16:27:10] <wiesand> We had a few drops today, but not nearly enough to pause watering for a day. And no further rain in sight for the next week. It's really quite frightening. I start seeing trees giving up whole branches.
[16:27:38] <meffie> yikes.  i hope you have been recovering and feeling better.
[16:28:26] <wiesand> Thanks. It's still not quite back to normal, but a lot better and still getting so.
[16:29:17] <wiesand> NB Looks like my mother weathered covid rather well. (crossing fingers)
[16:29:35] <meffie> good news!
[16:29:56] <Cheyenne> we've been dealing with some heat issues earlier in the week (40C+ just east of us -- we are about 14km and 800m higher)
[16:29:59] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> good news, indeed!
[16:30:59] <wiesand> At my place, it was "just" 39C yesterday.
[16:31:23] <Cheyenne> so it's not as bad -- we were hitting about 35C at the house
[16:32:10] <Cheyenne> and we had a couple of wildfire scares as well (one was from a small plane crash)
[16:33:08] <wiesand> yes, those are a problem here too - in many areas, it's no longer permitted to enter the woods
[16:34:47] <wiesand> Let's adjourn?
[16:34:59] <Cheyenne> sounds good.
[16:35:11] <Cheyenne> wiesand: let me know if you have any questions on the 1.8.x stack.
[16:35:40] <wiesand> Thanks, I sure will.
[16:35:49] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Thanks everyone, and stay cool!
[16:35:59] <meffie> thanks all.
[16:36:04] <wiesand> Thanks a lot everybody!
