[16:59:40] Cheyenne joins the room
[17:03:58] kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl joins the room
[17:04:17] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Sorry I'm late
[17:04:23] <Cheyenne> Hello all
[17:05:30] <meffie> seems the ice storm has slowed here.
[17:10:44] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I merged the linux-5.17 changes, but didn't make much other headway
(not even on the ubik_tests -- the functions to create various
database scenarios are being slow going)
[17:12:38] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> this last week was an IESG telechat week with full agenda that had me
pretty swamped ... and really, with only a couple months left in my
term as AD, this is the final stretch and I'll probably be swamped for
the whole time.
[17:13:34] <meffie> understood.
[17:14:04] <meffie> is there a term limit ? :)
[17:14:47] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> not a formal one, but doing more than two (2-year) terms is unusual,
and many community members give strong feedback to the nomcom to ask
hard questions if someone goes for an Nth term with N>3
[17:20:45] <Cheyenne> linux 5.17-rc2+ report -- master builds cleanly
[17:21:11] <meffie> excellent news. does that include the new "reorg headers" changes?
[17:21:50] <Cheyenne> they haven't pulled any of that in (yet)
[17:23:19] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I think I forgot what the "reorg headers" changes are :(
[17:23:30] <Cheyenne> speaking of headers.. there is a clean gerrit with a clean up on afs.h
[17:24:05] <Cheyenne> someone submitted a massive branch for a RFC which split up and reorganized the linux header files.
[17:26:57] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> ah
[17:27:37] <Cheyenne> https://lwn.net/ml/linux-kernel/YdIfz+LMewetSaEB@gmail.com/
[17:28:53] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I suppose you will get vastly different answers on the question of how
important it is to speed up the linux kernel build process and how
much cost should be paid to do so, depending on who you ask...
[17:48:27] <meffie> ok, best of luck with the IESG, have a good day all.
[17:49:28] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> thanks
[17:49:34] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> sorry for the slow meeting this week
[18:03:49] meffie leaves the room
[18:18:03] <Cheyenne> no problem.  Have a good week
[22:18:04] <mvitale> /mode
[22:18:10] <mvitale> hrrm
[23:48:02] Cheyenne leaves the room
