[15:52:25] <meffie> hello is this the right time, or an hour early or hour late?
[15:53:34] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> My understanding is that this is the right time.
[15:53:47] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I mean, um, "clearly you're an hour too late; sorry, we already had
the meeting" :-P
[15:54:25] <mvita2> hello
[15:54:29] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> But while you're here, there should be a "force gerrit build" button
somewhere on the buildbot UI, right?  I thought it was on the
per-builder page, but that is only giving me a single "force build"
button.
[15:56:51] <meffie> it's not easy to find... let me look
[15:57:27] <meffie> first, you need to be logged in (upper right). let me know if you need a password
[15:58:09] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I am logged in.
[15:58:31] <meffie> then, Builds, Builders, select one of the builders that does gerrit triggered builds, such as centos73-x86_64
[15:58:46] <meffie> then upper right, "ForceGerritBuild" button
[15:59:06] <meffie> in the dialog, enter the gerrit #
[15:59:10] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Oh, it does have to be one that does triggered builds; that could have
been it.
[15:59:30] <meffie> yeah, it is a quirk of the buildbot ui.
[15:59:54] <meffie> i actually want to rename the builders to make it more clear which ones are doing gerrit builds.
[16:00:03] cwills joins the room
[16:00:18] <meffie> ah, see it starting.
[16:00:32] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Yup, found it -- thanks!
[16:00:42] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Also, hey look, it's the top of the hour.
[16:00:44] <cwills> Hello all
[16:01:34] wiesand joins the room
[16:02:08] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Hi Cheyenne
[16:02:17] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Hi Stephan
[16:02:28] <wiesand> Hello
[16:04:24] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Happy Friday
[16:04:51] <wiesand> US folks shouldn't worry about the time. Let the worries to Yadav and me ;-)
[16:06:27] <cwills> I did linux-5.10-pre-rc builds yesterday.  both master and 1.8.x built cleanly
[16:06:36] <wiesand> So, some progress after the last meeting, and a few more changes ready to be merged soon, thanks for the review.
[16:07:38] <wiesand> More work to do though. I noticed 3 changes on the 1.8.7 wish list not yet merged on master:
[16:08:03] <wiesand> 14329 14330 14340
[16:08:50] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Huh, not sure how I missed those.
[16:09:40] <meffie> hmm, i completely forgot about  14329, 30
[16:10:00] <wiesand> Others remaining on the list: 14213 14252  14294 14295 13827 (+ missing assorted aklog changes), FBSD in general, and "maybe" 13845
[16:10:34] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Oh, oops, *I* uploaded the new rev of 14329.
[16:11:17] <meffie> oh, i remember these now!
[16:11:47] <meffie> yes, someone did not set the access rights correctly on the files in /usr/afs/etc
[16:11:54] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Okay, 29 and 30 are merged now.
[16:12:12] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Someone whose name rhymes with "effie"?
[16:12:17] <wiesand> Admittedly, if I weren't that slow remembering would be significantly easier.
[16:12:39] <wiesand> Thanks Ben.
[16:12:44] <meffie> heh, no, but i had to help figure out what went wrong. :)
[16:13:29] <meffie> (someone using CFEngine3 reset the mode bits on the files in etc and sadness ensused)
[16:13:43] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> BTW, the parent of 14340 is 14342, which on the face of it looks like
a Good Thing to have as well.
[16:14:29] <wiesand> Had a nice guy from the ansible sales team on the phone yesterday. He didn't even know what cfengine is ;-)
[16:14:42] <meffie> heh
[16:16:03] <wiesand> 14342 added to wish list
[16:16:24] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> 14342 merged
[16:16:33] <wiesand> thanks
[16:17:05] <wiesand> and that's about my plan for 1.8.7 - any late must-haves?
[16:18:56] <meffie> nothing new that i know of.
[16:19:34] <wiesand> very good :)
[16:19:47] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> ditto, on both counts :)
[16:20:00] <wiesand> on to 1.9/master then?
[16:20:56] <wiesand> ah, one issue coming to mind:
[16:21:01] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I had a bit of a busy week, so only started looking at much openafs
stuff this morning.  Trying to get some of the smaller stuff merged,
and look at one or two larger stacks as well.
[16:21:22] <mvita2> thank you
[16:21:32] <wiesand> since 1.9.x releases will be cut from master w/o a separate branch, it's ok to pull down directly from master to 1_8_x, right?
[16:21:47] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> yes
[16:22:45] <wiesand> good
[16:23:00] <mvita2> smaller stuff like https://gerrit.openafs.org/#/q/topic:rxstats  ?
[16:23:24] <mvita2> 14374 would be nice for 1.8.x eventually
[16:24:04] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I ... put a +2 on it, but didn't merge it.  Huh.
[16:24:46] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Seeing no evidence of why; merged.
[16:24:54] <mvita2> thanks!
[16:25:00] <meffie> woot!
[16:25:23] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Oh, I bet I know why -- I was freezing master for 1.9.0 prep
[16:25:54] <meffie> sounds reasonable.
[16:26:01] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> So, that whole stack of three is now merged.
[16:26:14] <mvita2> great, thank you very much
[16:26:41] <wiesand> 14374 added to wish list
[16:26:42] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> In other news, the forced gerrit build I started of
https://gerrit.openafs.org/#/c/13701/ finished, with a very curious
error on the macos 10.14 builder (but not the other two macOS ones)
[16:26:45] cwills leaves the room
[16:26:55] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> clang: error: unable to execute command: Segmentation fault: 11
clang: error: linker command failed due to signal (use -v to see
invocation)
[16:27:06] <wiesand> how about the other two in that stack?
[16:28:10] <meffie> maybe mbarbosa can take a look at the 10.14 builder.
[16:28:25] <wiesand> SIG11 tended to be a RAM problem last time I encountered it a lot
[16:29:05] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I have a vague memory that we've seen fleeting/spurious errors like
this before, possibly on that builder.
[16:29:29] <wiesand> the macos builders do not have ECC RAM, do they?
[16:29:37] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> So I guess I will kick off another run of that specific build and
probably end up ignoring it.
[16:30:26] <meffie> pinged marcio. maybe we need to restart that vm.
[16:31:03] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> > how about the other two in that stack
those are fairly cosmetic.  So, safe to take, but unclear if worth the
effort
[16:33:15] <wiesand> I'll have a look. In doubt, avoiding code skew by taking safe changes is a good thing (TM).
[16:34:27] <wiesand> More to discuss today?
[16:34:44] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I was going to note that we got a feedback report on 1.9.0
[16:34:54] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> https://rt.central.org/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=135174
[16:35:37] <wiesand> Sorry, hadn't checked RT before the meeting - was slaving in the leave mines…
[16:35:41] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Most of the questions/points raised I will respond to with "don't do
that", but perhaps the bit about putting KRB5LIBS after AFSLIBS is
worth doing a sweep to check for
[16:36:15] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> We haven't had a big leaf drop yet, so I've been making small piles
every few days (including yesterday)
[16:40:06] <meffie> btw, i will be out next week, not sure if i'll be able to join.
[16:40:07] <wiesand> We're in the middle of it. Daily duty.
[16:40:21] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Thanks for the heads-up, Mike.
[16:40:39] <meffie> expect to be on a long distance bike ride, weather permitting.
[16:40:44] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Nice!
[16:41:04] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> (The bike trip, that is.  Daily leaf duty is not so nice.)
[16:41:33] <wiesand> Enjoy Mike!
[16:41:41] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Other than the RT ticket, I may just have my usual "please let me know if
I should prioritize looking at a particular thing".
[16:42:34] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I guess I will note that I skimmed the `rxdebug -raw` and
`xstat_fs_test -format` changes enough to decide that I should not
look at them in detail until they have a +1
[16:43:02] cwills joins the room
[16:43:04] <wiesand> Settled hint ;-)
[16:43:13] <meffie> yes, i think they could use some updates.
[16:43:13] <cwills> .. internet grief ..
[16:43:48] <meffie> (the -raw/-format stuff)
[16:43:56] <wiesand> …been there…
[16:44:48] <cwills> crazy week around here.. (we have to evacuate over the weekend due to wild fire activity near town.. just got back to the house yesterday evening)
[16:45:05] <wiesand> at the start of the home office phase I threw money at my LTE connectivity, and it's absolutely phantastic unless when it's not working
[16:45:17] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> That's the big fire, right?  It was making headlines, like "highways
packed with people trying to escape fire"
[16:45:44] <wiesand> Glad to hear you and your house have been spared!
[16:46:01] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Yes, definitely glad to hear that you and yours have been spared!
[16:48:04] <wiesand> Looks like we're finished for today?
[16:48:16] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I think so.
[16:48:36] <meffie> ok, have a good weekend.
[16:48:54] <wiesand> Let's adjourn then. Thanks a lot everyone, have a good weekend and stay safe.
[16:49:07] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Thanks everyone!
[16:49:10] <mvita2> bye
[16:49:32] wiesand leaves the room
[16:50:49] cwills leaves the room
[16:52:30] cwills joins the room
[16:54:25] <cwills> .. net dropped again ..   anyway -- big fire is on the other side of the divide from us (north and west).  It did create a spot fire on the eastern side of the divide just west of Estes Park (about 30 miles north of here).  The big lines where people being evacuated from Grand Lake and Estes Park
[18:05:19] mbarbosa leaves the room
[18:12:17] mbarbosa joins the room
[18:44:21] meffie leaves the room
[19:00:19] <mvita2> gerrit.openafs.org seems to be having problems:  502 Proxy Error
[19:14:54] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> cheyenne sent mail so I restarted gerrit
[19:15:27] <cwills> buildbots are also having grief..
