[00:43:19] mvita leaves the room
[02:31:17] mvita joins the room
[07:23:02] mvita leaves the room
[13:58:45] wiesand joins the room
[13:59:11] <wiesand> good morning
[13:59:23] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> greetings
[14:00:29] meffie joins the room
[14:00:37] <meffie> greetings.
[14:00:46] <wiesand> hello mike
[14:01:01] <meffie> fyi, mark v is on holiday today
[14:01:10] <wiesand> pity
[14:01:43] <wiesand> i mostly cleared the backlog of open changes for 1.8
[14:02:18] <wiesand> 13417 will need review once verified
[14:03:01] <wiesand> and andrew suggested pulling up 12761 as an alternative to 13440
[14:03:15] <wiesand> the result is in 13416
[14:03:30] <wiesand> so that needs review and a decision
[14:03:52] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> 13440 is giving me ENOENT/EPERM
[14:04:10] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> do you mean 13340?
[14:04:16] <wiesand> yes, sorry
[14:06:07] <wiesand> the last open one is then 13122 - was the AIX issue resolved on master or do we have a problem there?
[14:06:08] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Given that we're going to be reverting 13340's master analogue on
master, that doesn't seem like a terribly hard decision
[14:07:38] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I don't remember anything in this space on master, but I've been a bit
distracted for the past month or so.
I also wonder exactly how much usage we really have on AIX...
[14:07:58] <wiesand> right :(
[14:08:39] <meffie> i know there are some existing sites still running AIX
[14:08:54] <meffie> learned about one recently.
[14:09:02] <wiesand> i can have a look later, and submit a reverting change to master
[14:09:51] <wiesand> but I think mark should be in the loop before we dump his change
[14:10:04] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Seems wise
[14:10:40] <wiesand> the author is mike, but mark pulled it up
[14:11:41] <wiesand> i pulled up the csdb change to 1.6 - 13418
[14:13:08] <meffie> i can try to raise him
[14:13:58] <meffie> but it might not be until after the holiday
[14:14:31] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Understood
[14:14:54] <wiesand> do you think we'll have a meeting next week?
[14:15:57] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> It's unclear whether I'll be available -- I don't even know which city
I'll be in
[14:16:27] <meffie> i am available, but i dont expect mark to be available
[14:16:37] <wiesand> pity
[14:16:48] <meffie> i can ask if that helps.
[14:17:10] <wiesand> anyway, i need to do some more homework for the prereleases
[14:17:10] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> It seems fine to preemptively cancel if that is helpful for anyone.
Or not, if that helps Mike, of course
[14:17:22] <meffie> or if you have specific questions we can sent email
[14:17:38] <wiesand> i'll be here and see who shows up
[14:18:04] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Fair enough :)
[14:18:47] <meffie> sorry i've not been active in gerrit. i've been busy on a project due by dec 31st. but we just got an extension :)
[14:18:55] <wiesand> and i'd prefer not to pester mark - i'm pretty sure his holiday break is well deserved and important
[14:19:15] <meffie> thanks
[14:19:18] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> extensions are nice, except for the part where they mean you don't get
to relax for longer
[14:19:31] <meffie> ah, good point.
[14:19:49] <wiesand> good luck with that project
[14:19:55] <meffie> and they add more work.
[14:19:57] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> yes, good luck
[14:20:02] <wiesand> and take some time off too, if you possibly can
[14:20:43] <meffie> part of this work means we may have some ansible roles for openafs :)
[14:20:49] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> FWIW, I'm also sorry I've not been active in gerrit.  My holiday had
IESG telechats on either side of it, so it's been like a month; I was
just getting back up to speed last night
[14:21:44] <wiesand> saw that
[14:22:14] <wiesand> but the blame for the 1.6.24/1.8.3 delays is really on me
[14:23:00] <wiesand> but i'm making good progress now, and i hope most of the prep work for those will be done by monday
[14:23:35] <meffie> hooray! thank you wiesand
[14:23:42] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Yay!
[14:24:12] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I probably shouldn't say this, but "nothing like a holiday to get some
real work done"
[14:25:04] <meffie> yeah, sad but true.
[14:25:30] <wiesand> if just openafs would be the only thing on my to-do list :-(
[14:26:10] <meffie> no worries, thank you for working on the gerrits!
[14:26:22] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> ==
[14:26:33] <meffie> sorry about the buildbot troubles this week
[14:26:46] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I didn't even notice  :-/
[14:27:23] <wiesand> np, thanks for fixing it at those hours
[14:27:29] <wiesand> i'm still feeling bad
[14:27:30] <meffie> should i do a patch for 13122? is there anything else i can do?
[14:29:17] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> It would probably be better to patch master than just revert.  I don't
know if you can test on AIX or not, though.
[14:29:34] <wiesand> i can't
[14:30:11] <meffie> seems we can do a new patch on master with an ifdef for AIX?
[14:30:18] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Though I'd be fine merging a change without actual tests on AIX,
given that that's what we do for all our other commits...
[14:31:10] <meffie> i'll start asking around for an AIX build worker
[14:31:50] <wiesand> hmm, how long does a build take on the aix systems still around?
[14:33:28] <meffie> well, at least for a nightly builder. and we can submit gerrit branches for test builds.
[14:34:22] <wiesand> > is there anything else i can do?
[14:34:40] <wiesand> checking on buildbot occasionally would be most helpful
[14:34:49] <meffie> so also, maybe we can improve how the buildbot deals with new gerrits on very slow or intermittent workers.
[14:35:12] <meffie> ok, i'll setup some sort of nagios thing first.
[14:36:09] <wiesand> i think we're finished with discussing the stable branches
[14:36:23] <wiesand> is there more to discuss about master?
[14:37:13] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I will repeat my apology for having done nothing for the past month,
but I don't have anything else.
[14:38:14] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Mike, anything from your end?
[14:39:25] <meffie> i dont remember the gerrit number, but mark had a fix for 'vos status' that was rather important.
[14:40:20] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> 13400, I  think
[14:40:43] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Some formatting nits but otherwise good.
[14:40:53] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> I guess I should have just made the fixes, since Mark is on holiday.
[14:41:48] <meffie> ok Thanks! i can make those right after this meeting, any chance we could get this one merged and then i can submit one for 1.8.x targeted to 1.8.3?
[14:41:59] <meffie> it's a small change but really annoying bug.
[14:42:02] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Seems likely
[14:42:31] <meffie> ok i will do.
[14:42:41] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Thanks!
[14:43:07] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Anything  else for this meeting?
[14:43:20] <wiesand> not here
[14:43:32] <meffie> no, i still owe an update on the buildbot to the mail lists.
[14:44:11] <wiesand> happy holidays!
[14:44:22] <meffie> i have nothing else, happy holidays
[14:44:36] <meffie> stay safe.
[14:44:45] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> happy holidays!
[14:45:04] mvita joins the room
[14:45:10] <meffie> oh, mark!!
[14:45:10] mvita leaves the room
[14:45:24] <meffie> oh he left :)
[14:46:27] <wiesand> looks like that was an accident ;-)
[14:46:41] <wiesand> let's adjourn?
[14:46:48] <meffie> yes, thank you.
[14:46:50] meffie leaves the room
[14:47:13] <wiesand> cu next week - or not (likely)
[14:47:16] wiesand leaves the room
[14:47:51] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> Sounds like a plan
[14:48:03] <kaduk@jabber.openafs.org/barnowl> thanks everyone!
[15:34:46] meffie joins the room
[19:23:55] meffie leaves the room
