away from the debian version, so we should probably pull that back to
1.8 and 1.6.  I can still sneak it into 1.8.0pre2 if we get another
review on 12718 and/or 12789 (whoops, I need to configure
notifications for openafs-stable-1_8_x!)

packaging, which seems to build okay and is just running into
packaging issues on moved files, so I think I'm ready to actually push
the tag ~immediately.

apparently due to some churn in the naming of libtool convenience
libraries.  But hopefully that will get resolved soon.

[15:21:34] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl772461F2> Um.  IIRC, it implements the "core" rxgk spec but not all of the
afs-rxgk integration one.  There's some incredibly hacky bos-rxgk bits
that are not fit for gerrit in there and some really-hacky bits for
trying to test the afs-rxgk integration.
