[14:00:38] <wiesand> Mornin
[14:00:44] <meffie> good morning.
[14:01:11] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> hi
[14:02:46] <wiesand> Re 1.6.20.2: I think if we can agree on 12598 we're ready to go
[14:03:53] <meffie> looking...
[14:04:03] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> I mean, I think it should be fine :)
[14:04:22] <meffie> oh, include it if it exists, yes, this look good.
[14:04:49] <wiesand> Ben: I happen to know the author of that patch ;-)
[14:06:13] <wiesand> Can we also agree that the missing buildbot verdict is due to technical problems with one slave?
[14:06:39] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Yes ... but which slave?
[14:06:58] <meffie> the freebsd one? maybe the slave was updated but it has an old config.
[14:07:18] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Should I ask Garrett to give me access?
[14:08:04] <meffie> i think so.
[14:08:12] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Okay.
[14:08:51] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> FWIW, I did get a Verified+1 from buildbot for a master change by
going and finding a build of that change that had been done on a
particular builder, and requesting a rebuild of it.
[14:09:49] <wiesand> I saw it, but I don't find that button…
[14:10:54] <wiesand> sorry I'm distracted - some fool managed to create a mail storm
[14:10:54] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Pick a builder, and go to its page, e.g.,
https://buildbot.openafs.org/builders/fedora23-x86_64-builder which
has a list of "recent builds" by time/sha1.
Look up the sha1 of the change you want to rebuild, and then click the
link in the "Build #" column.
[14:11:11] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Near the bottom of the page is a "Resubmit Build" field.
[14:13:30] <wiesand> ok, just tried. let's see
[14:14:40] <wiesand> I'd then also add that gerrit number to the NEWS change, and I think that would be 1.6.20.2.
[14:15:31] <meffie> great!
[14:16:22] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Yes, exciting!
[14:18:03] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> I see a Verified+1 on 12598
[14:21:04] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Operating on the assumption that Stephan is still distracted by the
mail spew, any 1.8 topics?
[14:22:46] <meffie> sorry, nothing to report on rt 133654 yet, but the spec file is out of my hair.
[14:23:21] <wiesand> 7k mails since the meeting started
[14:23:36] <wiesand> i'm so p*****
[14:23:49] <meffie> oh.
[14:23:56] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> I think that the DV hints change may need some more work to be ready,
in terms of ensuring that the non-hint values read remain consistent
across the access.  But I don't know what the linux VFS locking
strategy is here; maybe RCU saves us or something.
[14:24:08] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> I saw the spec file stuff, yeah -- thank you for doing that.
[14:24:47] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> I was hoping that wiesand could look at the spec files too, but this
is not really a good time to ask...
[14:25:00] <meffie> heh. yes.
[14:25:34] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> In other news, anyone have a favorite qemu-kvm setup for throwaway
VMs?
[14:26:12] <meffie> yes, i'm use qemu-kvm for the recent nightly builders i've added.
[14:26:59] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Would looking at afsbotcfg be useful for getting my initial setup in
place, or are there interesting bits elsewhere?
[14:28:34] <meffie> afsbotcfg is the buildbot master configuration. i'm using a fork of some scripts called virt-utils to create throwaway vm. let me dig up a github link.
[14:29:01] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Right.  So, all the interesting bits are on the build slave side,
then.
[14:29:24] <meffie> https://github.com/meffie/virt-utils
[14:29:38] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Thanks
[14:30:46] <meffie> i added one called virt-run, which clones an existing (base) vm, boots it, runs a series of commands, then deletes it. ymmv.
[14:33:41] <meffie> example usage: https://hastebin.com/buyefanaqa.bash
[14:36:51] <kadukoafs@gmail.com/barnowl4AB31BCF> Hopefully I can look at the big freebsd patchset this week.
[14:39:26] <meffie> ok, i've not created any freebsd qemu-kvm images myself yet, but it should be possible.
[14:42:44] <meffie> oh, in other news, we will want to have a ubik fix, either marcio's 12592 or something to address the issue. it's especially easy to hit in 1.8.0pre1.
[14:43:40] <meffie> hopefully we can come to a consensus, since ubik is tricky.
[14:44:15] <meffie> motion to adjourn?
[14:44:55] <wiesand> Sustained. Still trying to regain access to my mailbox. Grr
[14:45:20] <meffie> good luck. sorry.
[14:54:29] wiesand leaves the room
