[14:00:34] <kaduk> $timeofday
[14:00:43] <wiesand> Hi. Just about made it.
[14:01:58] <wiesand> Is anyone here bearing Linux news? Good or bad?
[14:02:36] <kaduk> I have no linux news.
[14:02:49] Jeffrey Altman leaves the room
[14:03:40] <wiesand> The 4.1 changes got a +1 from Daria. More would be good, but I can merge them.
[14:04:08] <wiesand> Daria also merged the open changes we want for 1.6.12 on master, and I pulled them up today.
[14:04:45] <wiesand> mmap has become 11877 - review needed
[14:05:52] <wiesand> for theafsio.c BreakUpPath I pushed two different pull-ups:
[14:06:16] <kaduk> I think the 4.1 changes were no-brainer; let me look again
[14:06:42] <wiesand> 11879 is a clean pullup, but that requires an additional Windows-only change (11878).
[14:07:16] <wiesand> Alternatively, 11880 makes for a leaner changes but leaves more skew w.r.t. master. Thoughts welcome.
[14:09:02] <kaduk> I don't think we need to be so worried about leanness that we take that extra skew
[14:09:09] <kaduk> Let me look at the diff-of-diffs...
[14:10:36] <kaduk> Yeah, I think the 11878+11879 path is fine
[14:11:27] <wiesand> Fine, let’s use that then.
[14:12:36] <wiesand> The other yosemite/clang ones should be ok with those on top. Again, I’d like more review but well...
[14:13:17] <wiesand> What will remain then is http://gerrit.openafs.org/#q,status:open+project:openafs+branch:openafs-stable-1_6_x+topic:release1612,n,z unless I’m missing anything.
[14:14:48] <kaduk> "oh, is that all"
[14:15:13] <wiesand> Yes, we’re getting close...
[14:16:13] <wiesand> Those last ones are just the version strings and NEWS
[14:16:58] <kaduk> right
[14:18:18] <wiesand> I won’t block pre2 on review of those. Still, someone having a look and checking that I’m not doing something funny would be good.
[14:21:03] <wiesand> I won’t get the tarballs done and all before tomorrow. But I still hope for preliminary tarballs and a draft release announcement tomorrow.
[14:21:45] <kaduk> Seems reasonable.
[14:22:10] <wiesand> Daria also merged softsig :)
[14:23:06] <meffie> yay
[14:23:14] <kaduk> yay
[14:24:44] <wiesand> So the next target is http://gerrit.openafs.org/#q,status:open+project:openafs+branch:master+topic:externalize-log-rotation,n,z ?
[14:25:35] <kaduk> Pretty much.  I saw some reviews go by from Daria there, as well.
[14:26:16] <kaduk> We also will want to make a sweep and convert softsig consumers from the util/ version to the opr/ version
[14:26:41] <wiesand> [yielding]
[14:28:10] <kaduk> I think that's about it.  I don't have any other 1.8 topics prepared, and I didn't get to look at the changes in question to have any topics for discussion with the group.
[14:28:43] <meffie> i have nothing new for 1.8.
[14:29:27] <wiesand> Fine. Anything else to discuss today?
[14:30:00] <kaduk> I guess I can report that Jason poked us about some awol buildslaves
[14:30:22] <kaduk> the ubuntu1404 buildslave is back up running, which reminded me to look at the set of changes needed to allow that build to pass...
[14:31:12] <kaduk> But that doesn't really require any action from anyone else at the moment.
[14:31:19] <kaduk> Just, "review the new patch when it comes in", mostly.
[14:31:30] <meffie> (btw, it would be nice if buildbot.openafs.org redirected to buildbot instead of gerrit :)
[14:31:37] <wiesand> Does this affect the 1.6 branch?
[14:32:50] <kaduk> > buildbot.openafs.org redirected
Hmm, I probably have the power to make that happen.  Let me see if I remember how these knobs work...
[14:33:15] <kaduk> I think most of the ubuntu1404 stuff is fallout from unconditionally building uss, which used to be optional and still is on 1.6
[14:33:25] <kaduk> you could trigger a manual build to be sure, if you want, though.
[14:34:45] <wiesand> Good idea.
[14:35:11] <wiesand> Okay, I think we’re done for today.
[14:35:19] <meffie> have a good day
[14:35:38] <wiesand> Thanks a lot, especially for the +1s!
[14:35:56] <wiesand> Now, just one or two more on the mmap change ...
[14:36:13] <wiesand> But there’s hope for a pre2 “rsn”.
[14:36:18] <wiesand> Goodbye.
