[14:01:00] <wiesand> Hello Crowd
[14:01:53] <wiesand> owd...owd...owd...owd...
[14:02:04] <meffie> good afternoon
[14:03:40] <wiesand> I repushed what’s on the immediate list for 1.6.11.1, on top of 11809, to get everything verified by buildbot.
[14:04:07] <wiesand> That even earned me some review :)
[14:06:08] <wiesand> The stack is openafs-stable-1_6_x (release16111) <http://gerrit.openafs.org/#q,status:open+project:openafs+branch:openafs-stable-1_6_x+topic:release16111,n,z> (+11809, which I just merged).
[14:06:17] <meffie> did you have any issues with the solaris builders?
[14:06:38] <wiesand> No
[14:07:02] <meffie> ok, thanks.
[14:08:44] kaduk joins the room
[14:09:16] <kaduk> Sorry I'm late.
[14:09:20] <shadow@gmail.com/barnowlE5B64A04> hi. apologies for being late. i heard bagpipes nearby and wound up
standing at attention as a funeral passed.
[14:09:37] <wiesand> Does anyone have any news regarding Linux 4.0? Are we good with rc7?
[14:10:16] <wiesand> Hi.
[14:10:35] <wiesand> Anyway, I’ll merge the Linux 4.0 stuff now.
[14:11:56] <wiesand> Done.
[14:14:09] <wiesand> So the current 1.6.x plan is to release 1.6.11.1 once we know what linux 4.0 actually is, and then soon have 1 .6.12pre1 with the Ubi changes and some trivial ones in addition (11808, 11612, 11626).
[14:15:30] <wiesand> And defer others to a later release. Like openafs-stable-1_6_x (volume-clone) <http://gerrit.openafs.org/#q,status:open+project:openafs+branch:openafs-stable-1_6_x+topic:volume-clone,n,z>
[14:15:58] <meffie> ok
[14:16:12] <wiesand> I added changes meanwhile merged on master to that one, and now it’s hopefully ok.
[14:16:54] <kaduk> That seems like a fine plane.
[14:17:50] <wiesand> Thanks. Is there anything else to discuss today regarding 1.6.x?
[14:18:12] Marc Dionne joins the room
[14:18:26] <wiesand> Ah, Hello Marc :)
[14:18:28] <shadow@gmail.com/barnowlE5B64A04> fwiw, marc confirms nothing new with linux 4.0; still looks ok
[14:18:33] <Marc Dionne> hi Stephan
[14:18:52] <Marc Dionne> yeah release probably this upcoming weekend
[14:18:59] <shadow@gmail.com/barnowlE5B64A04> or he can do it himself :)
[14:19:47] <wiesand> Good news. I read somewhere that it may be released another week later due to the guru being on travel... let’s see.
[14:19:56] <Marc Dionne> and looks like there will be changes needed for 4.1, but looks minor so far
[14:20:18] <Marc Dionne> yeah that's what Linus said in his rc7 email
[14:20:35] <wiesand> Great :-/ Thanks for the heads up.
[14:22:11] <wiesand> The 4.1 dev cycle will hopefully suffice to get 1.6.12 done (with 4.1 changes, if required).
[14:22:53] <wiesand> Are there any sites already using the ubik changes in production?
[14:25:05] <wiesand> Does anyone understand how Jeffrey’s -1 vanished from 11774?
[14:25:44] <kaduk> Not offhand.
[14:26:02] <kaduk> If we are super-super-curious, there is a database to be poked at, but it's not much fun.
[14:26:22] <wiesand> Don’t bother.
[14:27:00] <kaduk> Though, thinking about gerrit and gerrit upgrades, is it correct that there is still no version of gerrit which speaks openid-connect?
[14:27:24] <wiesand> no idea...
[14:28:26] <kaduk> Alternately, "have the YFSI folks gotten a gerrit upgrade recently?"
[14:28:27] <Marc Dionne> i thought i saw some oauth 2 support getting merged
[14:29:26] <kaduk> Hmm, so maybe there is actually some action going on.
[14:29:35] <kaduk> (I forget when google said they would turn off their openid bits.)
[14:29:57] <Marc Dionne> but don't know if it's officially released yet.   google said it would be off on april 20
[14:30:11] <wiesand> Ouch.
[14:34:07] <wiesand> I guess I better merge the remaining 1.6.11.1 bits before...
[14:34:46] <meffie> Mark tells me he has switched from google to launchpad for gerrit authentication.
[14:35:21] <meffie> i've not tried it myself.
[14:35:41] <wiesand> launchpad.net?
[14:37:29] <meffie> i think so. i'll ask.
[14:38:37] <wiesand> On to 1.8?
[14:38:59] <kaduk> I do no think there has been any progress in the past week :(
[14:39:48] <wiesand> another xmas approaching...
[14:41:08] <wiesand> On the other hand, this means we’re probably done for today :)
[14:41:35] <kaduk> Other than the obligatory "please review some changes in gerrit", it seems like it, yes.
[14:41:51] <wiesand> BTW I’m sorry that I can’t help more with moving 1.8 along.
[14:42:21] <kaduk> It's okay; I'm happy that you are keeping on top of 1.6.
[14:42:37] <wiesand> more or less...
[14:42:50] <kaduk> "much better than the alternative"
[14:43:16] <Marc Dionne> btw fwiw I was able to login to gerrit using launchpad openid (i have an account there)
[14:44:34] <wiesand> Good news. Is it straightforward to construct the URL?
[14:45:20] <wiesand> (is it just s/google\.com/launchpad.net/ ?)
[14:45:21] <Marc Dionne> it gives you the url in your profile, basically it's         https://launchpad.net/~user_name
[14:45:29] <meffie> i'm reading https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/OpenID
[14:45:52] <wiesand> Ah. Thanks.
[14:47:30] <wiesand> I’ll try that after writing the minutes ;-)
[14:47:55] <kaduk> Hmm, I think I did end up making a launchpad account to report some egregiously bad ubuntu bug.
[14:48:09] <kaduk> Maybe it was the one where printing PDFs from firefox produced only a blank page...
[14:50:02] <wiesand> I think we’re done. Thanks a lot for being here today (and the today’s reviews).
[14:50:16] <wiesand> Bye.
[14:50:17] wiesand leaves the room
[14:50:53] Marc Dionne leaves the room
[14:54:15] meffie leaves the room
