[20:03:02] <Jeffrey Altman> on 10227, Andrew's prior comment about exit() values that are not between 0 and 127 apply to viced itself.   It calls exit(-1) in a variety of places.    I don't have an objection to the technique being used.  I am wondering why the only place that a salvage is being avoided is when afsconf_Open() fails.  It seems to me that if this is going to be implemented it should apply to every possible call to exit() prior to the execution of VInitAttachVolumes().
