RHEL7 has XFS as the default partition type, would that be usable for an AFS cache? Are there any huge downsides to doing so? One thing I recall from testing with it is that the initial creation of cache files is very fast. [05:39:59] I will do some basic testing and see what happens, now's a good time to be planning whether we stick with good old ext3 or go for XFS for that partition [06:30:29] --- deason has become available [06:35:35] --- wiesand has become available [06:53:22] i switched over one of my testing machine to an xfs cache just to give it some regular testing [06:54:37] Nice. EL7 will make xfs the default. [07:00:06] i think their hope was that they could use btrfs, but in the end they didn't think it was ready yet [07:01:03] I am still hearing grumping in my sysadmin group every week or so about btrfs hosing itself [08:27:51] --- meffie has left [08:34:01] --- jaltman/FrogsLeap has left: Disconnected [08:38:11] --- squinney has left [08:40:06] --- jaltman/FrogsLeap has become available [08:44:49] --- wiesand has left [09:43:55] --- mvita has become available [11:47:29] --- mvita has left [11:55:08] --- mvita has become available [14:03:07] --- jaltman/FrogsLeap has left: Replaced by new connection [14:03:08] --- jaltman/FrogsLeap has become available [14:44:42] --- mvita has left [16:22:52] --- deason has left [19:20:31] --- ballbery has left [19:26:05] --- ballbery has become available [21:41:20] --- Simon Wilkinson has left [21:43:29] --- Simon Wilkinson has become available
