[10:50:32] I would hope it's the whole thing [11:02:43] looks like afs_dir_DirHash hashes the entire string of the name [11:10:19] --- jaltman/FrogsLeap has left: Disconnected [11:15:00] --- stephan.wiesand has left [11:16:30] --- jaltman/FrogsLeap has become available [12:49:37] --- meffie has become available [13:34:00] --- meffie has left [14:32:46] what are we lacking in terms of buildbot needs? [14:34:11] I kind of want to see one with a separate build dir and source dir, but I don't know if that's feasible with the current config structure. (I have a vague feeling that I asked for this a couple years ago and it wasn't feasible, but I might be making that up.) [14:34:40] --- CUDaveB has become available [14:35:30] Clarify "one" [14:35:46] one builder [14:36:02] What platform? [14:36:10] doesn't matter [14:36:16] for ben's request, that is [14:37:26] Looking at http://buildbot.openafs.org:8010/one_box_per_builder I don't see any obvious gaping holes, but nor do I know what I need to look for. ISTR that the opensuse slaves were very slow, but I think they got new hardware. [14:37:48] So, I have some spare cycles for running vms under KVM [14:39:10] the obscure architectures under linux maybe would have been helpful; it should have caught the build failure on ppc linux we had recently [14:40:18] but I don't think we're missing a lot... I find a more urgent 'need' to be upgrading some of the periodic builders to be per-revision, which means making them faster [14:40:38] I think that there are not many things for which a new builder would be helpful if it was too slow to build every change. [14:41:47] K. So, moving the rhel6 bldr off my desktop to a vm [14:42:11] Will queue that up [14:42:17] I think the only things I build that aren't on that list are solaris sparc and linux 2.4 [14:42:33] solaris sparc is getting worked on... and I don't know if anyone cares enough for a linux 2.4 slave [14:43:01] My mac 10.8 builder can be updated if fast enough [14:44:04] 11 minutes is way fast enough, but os x hasn't historically been a problem [14:44:29] Atm it is only 2x daily [14:46:02] But if that is enough, great [14:58:56] --- mvitale has left [15:17:58] sorry, catching up. been busy with other stuff today. anyway, ppc linux may be doable with a qemu slave. since i recently gained experience i don't really care to have with qemu... i'll look later. [15:18:32] and yes, having something that does configure from outside the sourcedir would be nice. [15:19:26] ah, and good to see an answer from frank batschulat appeared also, and it's not even an unfortunate answer! [15:20:55] --- mdionne has become available [16:10:39] --- mdionne has left [16:52:57] --- deason has left [18:14:36] Yeah, would have to look if it will emulate other archs [18:16:23] qemu definitely does, but I think the ppc emulator only emulates the reference PREP platform [18:53:00] --- CUDaveB has left: Replaced by new connection [18:53:01] --- CUDaveB has become available [19:11:04] Ok, then.
