[09:54:00] This is going to be "fun". [09:54:48] I really, really hate the symlink module build system that we use -- it keeps breaking whenever people change the way that headers work in ways that work fine for any other usages. Hm. Maybe I can figure out a way to make it go away.... [10:06:06] Isn't multiarch great? [10:19:45] which "we"? [10:30:54] --- lars.malinowsky is now known as lama [10:30:54] --- lama has left [10:31:09] --- abo has left [10:37:17] Debian and Ubuntu. [10:37:27] Actually, yes, multiarch is great. [10:37:32] Best change to have happened to Debian in the last five years. [10:37:46] But this particular bit of fallout is pretty annoying. [10:42:10] Looks like libuafs is going to need something similar to make_kbuild_makefile.pl that runs before the build and creates actual directories for h, sys, and so forth that contain #include directives that include the actual header files. [10:42:29] (Or we could rewrite our code to stop doing the h/ thing. That would be lovely.) [10:42:51] Actually, why do we make the sys link at all in libuafs? [10:42:58] I wonder if we could just delete it. [10:43:01] h is another problem. [10:44:04] I think libuafs should not be creating any symlinks except for h. [10:44:35] * rra tries to figure out where all that symlink stuff is being done. [10:45:07] I think I got rid of the sys link from libafs for fbsd ... would be nice to get rid of h/, too. [10:45:53] The problem with h/ is that the actual source code includes headers that way, apparently because they have different names on different hosts and that was easier than using Autoconf to figure out where the header actually was. Which would have been the right way to do it, but I suspect this whole build system predates the use of Autoconf entirely. [10:46:21] Ah, there we go. [10:46:33] Okay, I think I see how to fix this. [10:46:53] Plausible. Which reminds me, I need to go through and put in configure checks for everything that bogusly uses AFS_LINUX_ENV in userspace, for kFreeBSD. [13:03:52] Okay, I think I have a working fix. [13:04:02] It adds a Perl dependency to the build system for libuafs, though.
