[13:45:57] is there an easy way to build .deb packages from a git clone dir? [13:46:09] --- matt has left [13:47:03] Yeah, make dpkg from the top level does something that isn't particularly pretty, but is usually good enough for fast testing. [13:47:47] what does not particularly pretty entail? [13:48:31] Oh, it uses dpkg-buildpackage directly so it doesn't build in a clean chroot or anything, it uses an internalish package version number, and the packaging files in the tree are a bit out of date (although not too bad). [13:49:21] oh, so nothing drastic, and it'll still do what I want. Does it default to only openafs-client? or will it build all of them? [13:49:40] It builds all of them. [13:49:51] alright, neat. Thanks [13:49:56] Speaking of only building the client, does our build system have a sane way of just doing so? [13:50:06] --disable-kernel-module or something like that. [13:50:15] Or do you mean not building the server binaries? [13:50:21] Er, that would be server-only. Yeah, that. [13:50:32] make dest_only_libafs for just the kernel module [13:50:43] I don't think there's a way to build only the client userspace and kernel module without building the servers. [13:50:45] er, if you want it in "make dest" form [13:50:57] You can build just the kernel modules, or everything but the kernel modules, but those are mostly your two options. [13:51:06] (Hmm, reminds me that I should check 'make dest' works in pre6.) [13:51:24] Fair enough. rwatson will just have to deal with it, then. [13:51:37] if you're building just for you (and not for packaging) you can just 'make afsd dest_only_libafs'; I do that in dev trees sometime [13:51:45] s [13:51:55] This would be intended for packaging, alas. [13:52:09] That doesn't get you aklog and whatnot, which you probably want for a full "client" build. Or fs, vos, etc. [14:36:50] --- haba has left [15:24:51] --- deason_gmail has left [17:14:29] --- deason_gmail has become available [22:28:04] --- deason_gmail has left [22:43:20] --- Russ has left: Disconnected [23:38:03] --- Russ has become available
